530 E60 tyre sizes

Hi just joined inRecently acquired a 530i 2004. Tyre sizes are front 245/40 R18 and rear 245/35 R18. Please advise on higher profile sizes as looking for a softer ride. Many thanksCharles

If you stick to 18" rim you can't really change the tyre profile due to the need to maintain rolling diameter.

Unless of course you swap to 17" rim then you can raise the tyre profile to keep rolling diameter constant.

If you are on RFTs 17's and 18's do not make much different on ride comfort due to the stiff sidewalls of the RFTs.

Yup, to have comfort, you need to switch out of RFT and run it on normal tyres.

My 20inch rims with H&R sport springs and non RFT tires is more comfortable than my standard 18inch rims with RFT.
