520 2004 or 523 2005 better?

520 2004 cost about RM135K mil=79K523 2005 cost about RM146K mil=81Kwhich models is better buy?less problems?pls reply soon, thinking of buying either of the above!!!

520 has 170hp if i remember correctly whereas 523 has 177hp...520 still uses m54 double vanos engine but 523 has a newer n52 engine..perhaps e60 sifus can enlighten u on this questions...to me,i will go for 523

2004/2005 still uses the m54 engines for the E60. N 52 was introduce on the 2006 lineup. 523 is a 2.5 litre detuned engine.

Basically the M54 is a very reliable engine..no big issues compare the N series.

Buy 523i - pump up the engine's hp using TuningBox and then change the pulley and lastly remap it :top: the power is breathtaking

By the way, E60 is one heavy beast so you might need all the power you have. In this case go for higher displacement
