330i - CAT and Rear Muffler

Hi all, I am searching for a centre muffler and two chop shop has the entire exhaust system (CAT, Centre and Rear Muffler) for sale. They are for 330 Ci and I think they are compatible for 330i as well. The chop shops will not sell a single centre muffler and insist to sell the whole system. I am wondering whether any of the 330i and 330 Ci owners would like to buy the CAT and the Rear Muffler. Cheers!

The usual guy that I purchased most of my used car part is this guy by the name of Rippon in Batu Caves. Relatively cheaper and good quality parts. He quoted me RM1,300.00 but I have yet to see the unit.

I was introduced today to Chan auto used part somewhere in Old Klang road. Called them and was quoted RM1500.

I have not asked them for the breakdown. If you are interested, we can go the chop shops and ask them the breakdown. How? Boleh ka?

Pretty reasonable i think ... bro why don't just go to JFA or H-Performance to ask for quotation? I'm sure they can engineer a quiter centre muffler and it'll be cheaper. The center bullet then you can sell or maybe they accept trade in.

siple..cause I have been that route before for my peugeot 406 and I dont like aftermarket exhaust for cars with auto transmission. Kalo manual, lain cerita...me scouting for a manual miata mx-5 and if daapat, will go for after market!

So when wanna pay the chop shop a visit?

Finally, got the used whole set exhaust system. The used exhaust looks pretty new and both mechanic and exhaust fella confirmed it is very good condition. The improvement in torque and fuel consumption is simply amazing. Have always believe stock exhaust is the best for an auto car.

Till todate, the following parts have been changed by the previous owners and myself:-

- lower arms and bushes;
- rear and front shocks and;
- absorber mounting;
- exhaust;
- power steering hoses;
-steering rack;
- gearbox
- camshaft and crankshaft sensors;
- vent hose;
- expansion tank, water pump, radiator termostat, engine termostat etc
- new nexen 6000 tires and 17 inch original rims
- original brake disc and brake pads,
- fuel pump assembly
- long shaft coupling

Small problem is ...I dont think i like the drive of an e46 330i as much as my e39 and my fren's e36! darn...I prefer the older engines..the M52, drive by cable..find them more raw and satisying...

Yup M54 make do without the throttle cable ... But if you drive fast often enough the car will learn your driving pattern plus with sports mode it will be more responsive.

my wife drives the car most of the time. The car was supposed to be my second car and then wifey hijacked it! So I bought a miata mx-5 recently. Now my wife likes both car!!!!!! arghhh......

er...my wife just like to hijacked my cars.!! told her I may sell my 330i and get an e36 328. She seems ok with it cause I think she is enjoying the miata mx5!

Got the exhaust (CAT, middle silencer and the rear muffler) for RM1300.

That's a pretty sweet deal :top: Which chop shop did you procure from? Planning to let go the 330 i see ... I'd say give the old girl a chance and drive her hard i'm sure you will discover the real ability of the e46 chassis ..

I got it from Rippon, the owner of a chop shop located near batu caves. So far the stuffs I get from him for my 3 and 5 and peugeot are relatively good quality stuffs.

Your suggestion is well received. Perhaps it is too eawrly to judge the car. will drive her hard then!!
