not recommended as it is not tuned to run on our local diesel. better get a local spec 320d. judging from the pictures, it's a low spec model, analog climate control & no multifunction steering control

Non M-Sport. Local version though Auto/Manual is M-Sports specs

imported version has diesel particulate filter (DPF) installed while local models don't. Even after you remove the DPF, you still have to reprogram the ecu. I think there is a company in UK which can do it, but it's quite complicated and not cheap.

BTW I would only consider a manual if it's a sports car, for a daily driver, auto would be my choice.

Its the same diesel as we are, shouldn't be any problem.

I've own E46 320d auto comes with DPF, I replaced mine with a decat pipe and remap it. The DPF is a must in UK due to strict on emission control, its only use to reduce emission pollution to the environment, it does no harm to the engine whatsoever but reduce the performance a bit.

It is okay to remain the DPF. in fact it is much better having it because you wont have a bad diesel smell when the engine is running.

With the previous euro 2 diesel all you need to do is to get the DPF cleaned at a shop at every 30-40km. Cost wise is around RM1K.

Now with euro5 diesel available, i think the DPF would not get clogged up. So far so good for me on my Q7

I have an E90 320d (N47D20A) with DPF working fine and 60K miles on clock..... You can replace it with a downpipe but needs remap.... Cost for the whole package, around 1100$ from a Scottish company named Ecotune.....
