2012 iDrive (non connected drive version) to latest iDrive with Connected Drive?

Hi all,

It is possible to upgrade non connected drive iDrive system to latest iDrive with connected Drive?

My car is 2012 F30 328i. I talked to BMW Connected Drive Malaysia, their response is No. And, I did some research, look like possible to do that, but none of the search result is from Malaysia.

Based on what i have seen, yes it is possible to mod/upgrade to the latest iDrive version. if im not mistaken, Connected Drive is a subscription based service by BMW, which only comes with new units.
