2005 e60 service indicator reset

My service indicator has lit up. I followed the reset procedures but could not get the micro filter or exhaust indicator to reset, it stayed at 09 15 and would not reset. Is there something else that I am missing? Is there a time limit on the reset, eg, 10 years?

I suggest u try again n follow the variuos methods in youtube.....i reset my service advisory message successfully with no issues.

Just as an update. I spent numerous hours on the internet last night and found the following. The exhaust and country (?) inspection tags are re-set using the i-drive whilst the micro filter alert is re-set using the odometer reset method. That explains why when I tried to re-set through the odometer re-set method the dates would not change. I have now resolved the service indicator.
