hi SIFUS/all,Yesterday@ approx.1500hrs at NS H/way, otw from melaka to jb(pagoh- machap), witnessed highspeed race between x5(driver alone,1ST MODEL with black spotrim) and airtrek T. Look like the x 5 4.4 is struggle and unable to overtake the airtrek(with 4 passangers/load)...i'm with e36 328 only manage to follow them half way and later giveup.. cause they are really damb fast..!!If the x5 owner is here, may be can give a bit comment.. tQ.G.

Just looked at basic spec, not much difference like 9der said. One is lighter still even with 4 passenger.
Mitsubishi Airtrek spec:
Curb vehicle weight, kg 1520
Max.power (Net), kw(PS)/rpm 240 ps (176.52 kw) / 5500 rpm
Max.torque(Net), N*m(kg*m)/rpm 35.0 kg*m (343.23 N*m) / 2500 rpm
BMW X5 Spec:
Kerb weight 2195 kg
Max. Power: 319.4 PS / 315 bhp / 234.9 kW @ 6100 rpm

Stock Airtrek turbo max speed cut at 180kph, with restrictor removed plus chipping, we should be looking at 230kph.
X5 4.4 standard max speed is 240kph.. With extra 100Nm of torque. It seems it has the advantage.
E36 M52B28, 193ps, 280Nm, 1395kg, max speed 240kph. 106kw/ton

Also I just learnt that my E90 speedometer reading is overstated, meaning meter at 200kph, my Garmin only shows 180kph. That why I always kena cucuk kao kao by Camry and Accord 2.4 despite they suffer fuel cut at 200kph. Now I now what went wrong.. I need to do 220 on my meter.. then I'll see them disappearing in my rear view mirror.. :4: Check yours and make sure its reported correctly, many said my car when doing 160kph like very slow, it is indeed slow because Garmin only shows 150kph.. :13:

...had tried before my e36 328i only manage to get 230km/h with long straight hway. dont think my car able to reach 250km/hr, with auto and 4 speed g/box. possible?
