My tyres are due for change soon. I plan to switch to non-RFT.Me and the Misus can't stand the firm ride of the RFTs on my pre-LCI 325. The funny thing is, we both agree that the ride on the Missus' 320 LCI with RFT is much softer.I find the wear rate on the RFTs is high. Mine is a a year old with 25K and the tyres have only 15% left. This is a survey of the experiences of those who have switched from RFTs to non-RFTs.Given that it has been indicated that many have gone over to the "dark" side, please share your experience, especially in terms of ride, handling and wear. Did you get the mobility kit? Any withdrawal symptoms... Your posting is much appreciated.

There is reason why the E9x //M doesn't come with RFT.. pure performance reason. While the RFT is given to us for convenience and perhaps "personal safety" purposes, they bundle in a mobility kit with the //M. The E90 parts catalog has a spare tyre bag and net to strap the nicely strapped up space saver tyre down using the 4 anchor point in our boot. They sell the E90 jack kit as well.. :D

I will die die go the "dark side", because cannot keep up for cost reason.. :p Nothing to do with performance.. will rely solely on the accuracy of RFT indicator, if the indicator screwed, I'm f*ck!

Mobility kit will only help when minor puncture over the rolling surface (likely), and won't help with blow out (unlikely) or side wall puncture (unlikely).

3rd generation RFT is softer, more comfortable, and cheaper.. something to learn more about.. I have time..

Sorry off topic.. :D

Go for it,

Non-RFTs are cheaper and definately improve ride quality 100%.

Depends on the brand and thread pattern you choose, handling, wet and dry will improve.

Mobility kit can easily obtained from the nearest authorised dealer.

Note: When going to non-RFTs, please increase tyre pressure =2 PSI all round to compensate for the less stiffer sidewalls for the non-RFTs.

No withdrawal symptoms....
