hye all bmmer, i newbie here, im planning to buy 2nd hand 318i e36... so i need u guy help to advise me to choose a better year of manfctr, mileage for the price range of 30-35k... am also need u teach me how to mantain that car well.. the price of spare part, good place to service etc..thanks all hope that u can help me... thanks again

b4 u want purcahse u dream car..pls read this carefully.....

1) Make sure u deal with trust person.....( e.g owner the car )
2)Puspakom Inspection
3)Bring Mechanic ( Xprience with E36 Model or BMW car ) not all mech so terrer with europe car.
4)Drive the car b4 u agree to purchase..make sure...no bunyi2..during driving...dont drive at highway coz higway road so senyap...when u drive
5)See the milage...normally if looking 30-35k..price the car will be year 95-97...the millage avrrage 200000km..
6) Check the maintainence record, if possible ask y their want to sell the car, where the orner werk,hometown...coz frm the info u can assume...how the car being use. and last but not least..ask if the car had accident...b4?
7) If u wannt use this bmw..u need prepare...cash..coz bmw not just Bavarian Motor Werker but Banyak Mau Wang....so make sure u on time during change oil engine..use the good one..brand...if u hve extra money use the new sparepart and original
8)Hve lot outside good workshop....so let us know wherr u.stay..so we can advise..where the nearst workshop for u car.
9) ok la..i hope what ever the info can u help u little bit b4 purchase u dream car.
10) last and the important think.if.u need loan..this car now...so susah mau masuk loan..if cash..no pblem maaaaaaa

Hi crazytechcrew,

Good advice from Liza.
Another experiece ... when you test drive, try to accelerate and apply brake ... if you feel vibration when braking, most likely the disk brake and prake pad need to be replaced (not in good condition). BMW is quite a heavy car, try to find 'lopak/lubang' jangan too deep laa ... drive through ... if you hear any sound (from front tyre), lower arm bush or other part may be not in good condition.

oh, stay away from those with loose door panels and pillar covers otherwise you need to spend on ICE to drown the ineterior noise..

borrow a litte from FAMA bank larrr ...then pay slowly ....

from the indicated budget price you're looking at (rm30~35k) and the pricetag of the car ..not much difference lerrrr ..

infact 35K also will come up to the same upon repairs and so on if you buy it from a used car without knowing the history ...

lets say with a 35K budget you'll end up modding sooner or later ..let me list some of the poison here

1) B-kits ori rm 3K without paint work
2) 17 in rims ori rm 3.5K
3) lowering springs and abs -- rm 2K
4) ice -- RM 2K
5) leather seats -- RM 3k

and more in the list .....

so you better think thrice before taking this path ..just a personal opinion here
