Hi peeps, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if we can get loans/financing cars more than 10 yrs old such as the e36 and e34. I know most banks immediately say no if the car is more than 10 years old? There are so many nice 36's and 34's out there, if I wanna buy one from a private sale where do I go for financing? Buying cash is not an option for me. Please adviseRgds

you may try credit companies, rates are higher of course. or ah longs!

Inquire RHB for personal loan for non govt servant..happy hunting

Personal loan will be the last option i reckon. But what for with the sky high interest, unless u are gov servant.

Huh? Serious ah?

Same here. What about E39 5 series? year 98 or 99 still can apply bank loan?

Aiyooo Mizhan dowan Ah Long all la, they might paint me red.......yeah someone else asked me to try credit companies.
Also dealers usually organize financing but must take car from them, might try talking to them to see if I find my own car and pay them a fee to organize financing. Most dealers cars are dodgy. I'd rather buy from an enthusiast.

this one is for non govt if not mistaken, already asked my friend in rhb..but dont know abt the interest..AFAIK the interest is very much lower than CIMB.

personal loan will always have a better rate than a normal HP loan.

so it actually make sense to get a personal loan if you are buying a 2nd hand car provided your salary is enough to secure it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Will check around and enquire about personal loans.

Cheers

Most banks are now offering personal loans..RHB, Hong Leong, Standard Chartered, HSBC, Citibank, EON, Alliance, CIMB..u name it..

Up to you to shop around & get the best T & Cs..but I think max tenure will be 5 years. Just bear in mind that the staff you deal with may be a bit pushy as they have quota to cover & commission to earn..

Good luck in your hunt!..

Cheers :)

Bro, did you really submit to document to bank for HP? I heard some dealers said BMW maximum year can go for 15 years old car, i don't know how far is true .. No harm to try..

Bousted Credit offers loan for cars from 1996 onwards.interest is 7.5% per annum and above. Public Bank still offers loan for certain marque such as Bm and Merz for year 1997 and above.interest rate is 6.5% per annum and above and repayment is between 4 to 5 years.Just walk in and enquire with them.
