WHERE IS THE VIN NO FOR THE E34?

Open the front bonnet. It should be located on the firewall panel on the driver side. (near the wiper)

anyway, the seller claimed that his model is original 90' e34 525i automatic,

but when searched with the VIN decoder, the outcome is this:

Vehicle code HB51
Series E34
Model 520i ( 520iM50 )
Body type saloon
Catalog model ECE
Production date 1989 / 03
Engine M50
Transmission Manual
Steering Left
Catalyzer YES

Which one is true? or is it supposed to be like that?

p.s. just in case the seller is browsing this forum, no offence ok, just to be sure....

Pls check again...The M50 engine shld be produce yrs 91 onward.....89 n 90 shld M20 engine....

Please check the vin number again. if vin decoder give "left hand drive", then something is amissed. it should be right hand drive.

It's on da passenger side...da driver side is da chasis number... B)

anyway, i didn't check the passanger side. maybe these 2-3 days i'll check again.

is it true that the VIN numbers do not apply on CKD models?
