The box works!

If you want to know if the box works for u, very easy to test. Go hook up a volt meter to your ciggy lighter outlet and drive around with it. U will notice the reading varies from 9V-14V depending on different situation. If u keep seeing 12V-14V, then yes, the VS will have no effect on u. But if you see 9V when aircond cuts in or going up Genting at night, blasting aircond, then this VS will give u wonderful result by improving from 9V-14V to 10V-14V, strap one more and your get 11V-14V, keep adding and you will get closer to 12V or 13V if you have the budget and engine space.. :D I have a friend running 4 boxes of 56 capacitors each!!! Home made VS! He would have added the 5th if space allowed.

If you can reach 12V-14V, then I congratulate u! U now gets a balance spark plug firing which is very critical for keeping up your torque compare to another 9V-14V car of the same engine. If your voltage is not stable, it will scramble the engine firing rhythms. Your lose torque!

I have not tried it on E90 though.. damn scary looking at the battery connector. Scared the air bags deploy when I meddle with the connector.. :p

I've just install VS to my 2000 E46, amazing.....my remote control(kaput) back to normal again. Engine also more smother, gear change and performance better.

:eek::eek: bro, I heard about VS improving engine performance and gear shift but I never heard that it could repair the remote control..

Please explain how does a VS can repair a remote control.. :confuse:

HAha..yea, do explain. The VS does works on my E30 though (mb cos E30 older? as mentioned it works wonders for older cars than newer cars)..but to not much of an extent..perhaps i should install more..lol.

So is there a diff btw a VR & a VS?

If your VR means Voltage Regulator, then easy to explain.

Voltage regulator is to limit the alternator output so it does not shoot to high above 14V which will be damaging to all our 12V components. But it does not help in situation where output of alternator is below 12V or the usage draw is far greater than the alternator output, thus alternator output fail to achieve 12V.

Voltage Stabiliser on the other hand act as a temporary reservoir just like a car battery but 10x more efficient in charge/discharge, thus stabilising the voltage from say 9V-14V to a much stabilised 10V-14V enviroment to obtain consistent spark plug firing which helps in the "rhythm" .. you can feel engine scream louder due to a more stabiliser spark plugs firing, if your voltage had high fluctuation before la, or else u won't see much improvement.

planning to get one. mech advise to put for my E36 328i. quoted me RM648, is that a fair price??

thx...

My custom VS with over 50 capacitors inside plus fuse does not cost me more than RM200.

I won't spend RM600 on a VS la. Likewise, I won't spend RM600 on a Mobility Kit too, so your money your choice.

And bear in mind that just like all things in nature, VS too has a life span. Rate of deterioration would accelerate after 2 years... in other words, after 2 years, u r back to square one!

Just make sure the custom VS is constructed properly and durable so that it won't make the engine bay a BBQ pit....
