Vanos..

Guys,1. When we should do engine mounting.. waiting for engine shaking or do it after some kind of milage..2. Vanos 325 make more noised than 328 vanos.. my mechanic said 325 vanos dont have spring plate inside it. He suggest to install the 328 spring plate on the 325 vanos to solve this. Its True?

I just changed my engine mountings since the car is reaching 11 years of age, but no difference... cost me $360 including labour...

ya.. i was wondering about the engine mounting also..
do we need to change it after some times?
is there like 'deadline' to change it

because i wan to buy one car... the person said change many things
and one of it is the engine mounting..

This is considered wear & tear part.. usually when kaput, first signs are minor engine vibration etc. another way to check is ur engine would have dropped in height a little over the years, like mine. ask ur mech to remove one and compare wt a new one, you will surely see the diff. also some cracks and the rubber will be be all hard by then. of coz its hard to realise this, need expert eyes..hehe
