I'm not an expert on BMW and especially BMW engines. Been an OM for about less than 2 weeks only. But I've been an automotive engineer for 8 years now, and only on engine design and development.
The amount of testing done on our BMW engines is massive, bro. It's just countless of testing and validating and retesting and retesting and validating and retesting again. And I think for BMW, they are probably doing it many many times over than your average OEM.
My advice is don't start poking around your internals. Potong block, korek head, potong spring, ganti valve, ganti piston ringan - these are all destined for disaster. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow or next week, but definitely this is just asking for trouble. Don't touch the internals - head, block, piston, crank, connrod. These are all BMW signature. They're good already as it is.

If you want better ride and handling - replace sport springs, shocks, roll bar, strut/sway bar.
If you want better acceleration - replace exhaust, intake system, ECU remap, velocity booster, spark delivery system.
If you want a better look - M body kit, exhaust tips, leather seats, rims, tires.
Last but not least, enjoy the ride. Joy is BMW.
