udm shaking when speed over 100 km/h

hi..i am new here..just bought e36 318i 96.my udm shaking when speed over 100 km/h.i feel it comes from engine not because of tyre.need comment from all u guys.thanks..

the vibration comes from the front engine i think..especially i feel at the foot floor.when speed over 100 km/h the engine like still in low gear not smooth as in higher gear.thank's stig

ectually i am from kelantan.really like udm so much although rare to find udm workshop in kelantan.the tyre is still new.maybe i will check with the mounting. thank's chairoger.

udms should be superb in cruising the highway, although older e34 and e32 is better than e36 from what ive read.

If you feel the vibrations on the floor, it can only be 2 things.

1. Mounting
2. Long shaft

The long shaft vibrations are more prounounced during gear shifts. wheel balancing issues will be felt on the steering wheel.

hey fellow UDM brothers... my car had the same problem...changed the long shaft after checking and it was dented... but today was on the way to Melaka...car started vibrating again....next thing i know..."craaannggg..." loss of power...then engine died...thank god i was able to make it to the emergency lane...my drive shaft came lose at the gearbox place....so had to tow back...2morrow(19th sept) will go check exactly what happened when my mech opens it up...sigh...what an experience...scary!!!! oh not to forget COSTLY....hahah..towing charges etc..

just an update.... was not my long shaft issue that my car had problems on the highway...Engine KO...
as for shaking abover 100KM/H....i changed my long shaft....now ALL smooth!! hehehe......
