Hey guys,Bought the TurtleWax ICE Polish last week on a whim. Was actually trying my luck visiting ACE in MValley for some car care stuff, when I saw the ad on the telly. Was rather impressed with the 'no-residue' effect of the water-based polish, so I bought it. Haha. Was it money well-spent?Well, it rained yesterday, and the raindrops just beaded away like nobody's business...But I'm just curious, since it's only a polish, do I still need to apply a layer of Wax on top of it to preserve the paint?

Although it's named as a polish, but technically, it's a sealant in our terms.

Eggie86, can't answer your technical question since I don't know. But I've used ICE for sometime now (whenever I do it myself rather than have it done at Carnauba), and have been quite happy with the result.

Thanks for the lowdown bro. Guess I still have to add another layer of wax once I've applied ICE.

Hey bro, thanks for your reply. Still wondering how best to describe ICE too. Haha. Not really a wax too. Probably similar to the Megs Quik Detailer?

Just used it for a quick detail of my dad's old Jag, and boy does it look good. Not so tiring as applying wax, and I would guess using ICE is a rather 'quicker' way of achieving a shiny car, at half the time.

Of course, can't beat the good ol' rotary + wax which KC excels at! :top:

hahahahahahah

u think i superman...spiderman nope i am just an ordinary man...

imho

wax is just wax....protection

Sealant is sealant...also protection

polish is polish..............to prefect out & rejuvenating yr CC paint

clay is clay....................to remove above contaimination

compound is compound.cut away inprefection & swirls

QD is QD....quik detail

prep is the key to hold every last LSP / sealant or wax on...
what i can suggest is ..lets come out ...we will prep the car for you...and apply 50/50 of ICE & another product...then

leave it on observe / document a weekly pics & review it afetr 2 months...then u would able to find out the durability of it

eg

take a look at my 2face..one side protected & another nope

early morning moist

how a protected side beads

no matter how many times / layer of wax or sealant applied on
is still the 1st layer counts...

wax doesnt need hours to cured...

but sealant need 8 hours like nxt

Hmm, true also.

Nothing beats good ol' waxing. Eh, you mentioned NST is a sealant, and needed 8 hours before it works? Means the NXT 2.0 Techwax I've been using is the same?

So far the ICE Polish works like a dream, especially when I'm feeling lazy. Haha. Tried it out on my family's Jaguar, and it looks like a million bucks. :D Of course, shall try to use the NXT to further make the car kilat... =D

Yes both is sythetic wax...aka sealant...one applications is good de enough...more will be waste...cos u can actualy spread out the applications.... wax bi montly is better than compounding yearly:rock:

Ooh, okie. Thanks for the lowdown KC. Eh, just curious, what's the point in compounding? Wouldn't a wash, clay and waxing regime be suffice to keep a car staying shiny?

Or would compounding actually help bring out the inner shine within the clear coat?
