Hi forummers I've been following this forum quite a while now but this is my first thread .. I'm currently driving e60 and using the m sport (135) rims (18"). I'm thinking very hard of changing the rims to Breyton GTS 19" rims. The problem here is that a few of my friends actually change from using 19" back to 18" rims due the reason that they said that the ride is quite hard and bumpy due to the profile of the tyres. So I would appreciate if you guys could leave me some feedback whether I should go ahead to change the rims and tyres or I sould stick to my current rims ... thanks in advance!!

What your friends said is true... sometimes you have to forgo comfort if you want to go for sportier look...
Personally I'm driving an E60 M-Sport with the exact same rims like yours :D I was contemplating to change to AC Type V 19" or M6 19" rim earlier but I didn't in the end... why?? Because of the potential hard ride and bumpy problems that you mentioned. And I have to carry my family around... the suspension is quite stiff enough and I don't want to rub salt to the wound by changing the rims??? My solution??? if you have the $$$... maybe do HIOP on your car... or add some bodykits.

IMHO...most of the time they return to 18" becoz of the tyre price...comfort is just a small reason nia...

Hi Thule and t2ribena

Thule - thanks for your feedback .. really appreciate it!!

t2ribena - do u mean that changing to 19" will be almost the same comfort as 18" if cost is not a problem

Thanks !!

it depends...for me small diff but for others could be big diff...

what i actually meant is that the reason for most to downgrade back to 18 from 19 is not the comfort mainly but the tyre costs...for me my 19" ps2 which costs about RM5600/set lasts only max 20k km...

with the mileage i am going which is about 40k km per year, that would costs me rm11200 per year on tyre costs nia...

if money is not a problem then by all means go for it...:top:

Thanks for the nice pictures ... by the way if i decide to change to 19" .. do I have to lower my car (which mean costs again to me) .. that's the advice I get .. if not it will look funny !! .. is that true??

Thanks bro!!:top:

odyssey...if ur car is the factory m-sports version the the ride height is already lowered...so no need to lower it summore unless u wan to have it lower...

Just go for the 19". If you get a good set of imported rims & PS2 tyres to go with, It doesn't bump that much.

My personal experience is that there is HARDLY any difference between 18 and 19 in terms of comfort. Your 18s currently comes with run-flats so the ride is already pretty hard. Changing to 19s with regular tires...the difference is really negligible.

Do you have family and kids to consider? Otherwise go for 20!
