Car seldom exposed to sun light when parked. No point using el cheapo stuff when driving a 250k car! I only use Meguairs product but I send the car to CARS for a wash. My car has Eco Tint Ray Barrier all around. I'll try to attach a photo when I can....but if any of you are familiar with petai...it looks exactly like the skin peel of the petai itself...you will know what Im describing !:10:

grey interior its hard to maintance, i wish my car its black interior but i bought it from pre-owner section so not that much cars let me choose,my handbrake side and door pill also peeling off already...car already done 5k km millage

Do you chaps condition your leathers regularly? Leather needs moisturising every 6 months at a minimum. In fact I do it every month. Leather that's dry scuffs easily, especially in high wear places that you handle all the time. And it's a function of time, not mileage, so if your car was a prereg or preowned, the leathers may have gone 1-2 years without conditioning, making them very dry and brittle in our high UV sunlight. They may have sat in the open lot without window tinting, so getting a lot of UV sun-tan.

There are lots of leathercare products in the hardware shops, but even cheap castor oil from a pharmacy will do the trick. The easiest way to apply it is to wear a cheap throwaway cotton glove on your hand (also from hardware shops) and just smooth it on with your fingers. :top:

I think that's why I haven't noticed this in my E92. It has Jade Grey leather which is almost white, which everyone tells me require regular maintaining internally, so I tend to interior polish using Meguiars leather cleaner every 2 months or so.

my car was 1 month old from delivery and my leather seat going to turn dry,i'll try get a leathercare products polish on it,do any car wash center provide this kind of service?

the leather in my car are still in good condition. The one thats peeling now is the black plastic in the center (around the horn), not the radial steering wheel it self.

My car have same problem as well, peeling of the black plastics at 3 and 9 o'clock position.

Let see if they will allow warranty claim. Sending in my car for 10k service tmr.

Wish me luck.

Finally...some one in the same situation...not that Im happy about it...

Wish you all the luck man...cause Im going for a service as soon as Im back....so hopefully you get a good response !

Ahh...that's a synthetic-coated plastic part. One of the reasons contis don't look and feel plasticky like japs is because of the coated plastics. Nice tactile feel to them, but it's a problem of all contis that these parts and the headliners suffer in tropical UV sunlight. They require care too, and I'd recommend using a polymer silicone sealant at least once every 3 months. Find one like Waxco that gives UV protection.

IA confirmed they will changed the plastic part of the steering wheel - no question asked:top:

However, they need to order from BMW - so got to wait..

I noticed that the armrest on my driver's side has some slight peeling too.
Attaching a link to the armrest diagram, so that you guys know which part I mean:
http://bmwfans.info/original/E90/Lim/325i-N52N/MYS/R/N/2007/03/mg-51/ill-51_6592/

It's the black plastic area just below the door handles, a small recessed area where you can put some tissues etc...

Luckily my dealer agreed to replace it without any questions asked.

Honestly, I'm quite aghast that a car costing nearly 1/4 million can have such problems with the interior after only 1.5 years... :(

same problem with my ride. steering deco cover skin peeling. Tian siang changed it free no question asked. i have also complained that CID Button rubber deteriorating ( the outer cover on the idrive knob) waiting for reply from BMW.
