Suspected LCM is over!

Dear Sifu,Any advice to get 2nd hand part of LCM (Light Check Module) as the symptom was sometime ago, all 3rd Light and Brake Light is on all the time!!!. So just replace new tail light but it's still there....so it pointed to LCM.My ride is 520I SE AUTO 1998.Thanks in advance.....

Why did u suspect LCM? sound like brake light switch to me. Located on the pedal assembly behind the brake pedal. This is the switch to activate the brake lights when braking, diagnose by unplug d cable at the brake pedal, see if all lights go off, change d switch.

it happened to my e36 before....i guess it is quite common to bmws

This also happened to other cars that I've driven before.

I've also seen many cars with all brake lights either turned on or flickering on and off while cruising.

ur right man...forgot some familiar sights on Japs and Bolehland cars mainly...hehe

Hi guys, thanks for all feedbacks.

As a matter of fact already changed the switch...but it happened again...so only LCM is the only source....

Got indication 2nd hand cost RM550...sound reasonable?
