My wife's E90 got a chip on the windscreen due to flying stone driving behind truck. Does anyone have a windscreen specialist who can repair a stone chip? Any experiences so far? Does the procedure restore the windscreen so that not noticeable? Appreciate help of some members. TQ.

Dr Cermin is good..no need to change windscreen if just small chipping..they simply repair it(donno the procedure tho)

RM90 for a bulleye repair job in Chan Sow Lin. Auto Bavaria Sg Besi send their cars there for windscreen repairs.

Theres one next to Kanna Curry House at the rothmans roundabout.Did a good job on my wife's car and can claim insurance! Apparently the faster you send it for repair the better the results as dirt and grime will build up over time.

my E34 has a chip on the windscreen too. if you don't mind sharing bro, how much did your job cost and how long is time taken for the procedure?

It was last year and it was one of those "divot" type of chip, where there was a hole in the windscreen (size like the knob on a wristwatch). It was quite deep until can see second layer but not deep enough to go thru. I thought, crap this is bad. If i remember correctly it was about RM220-240. Not cheap but end result was unnoticeable unless you knew where to look. End result was like a small dot. For insurance claim, he will outline the area with white marker, take photo, fix and give you the photo CD. Kanna Curry house is in the row of shoplots behind Lisa De INN hotel at the rothmans roundabout. Hope this helps.

Thanks you all for the info and help. Found out that another friend who also needs this info. You all have been a great help!! Going to Dr. Cermin (found out near my house) - they quoted not more than RM100 and 1/2 hour job! What a great great relief!

Went to Dr. Cermin (thanks Prime5), they quoted RM80, for a 1/2 hour job. They classified mine has half moon chip - person in charge said that will still be noticeable after repair. Looked at the sample in their shop, gives me a pretty good idea of what before and after repair will look like. Still not too happy, went to Syarikat Lee Heng Auto Trading near Rothmans roundabout (thanks Daytona, not the exact shop, but one which wholesales windscreens, boss showed me his Camry which was done, also still noticeable after repair). They quoted RM120 for 1.5hour job (more expensive, and takes longer, but presumably better job??). Still undecided, so will look around some more, and will update later. Wife checking whether insured through company. Thanks for all your help.
