Recently when I moved the steering wheel to the most bottom, when I turn my steering either left or right I hear a "ngeeeek" sound... Does anybody have this problem ?

Check your power steering oil level, change new ps oil if you didn't flush it before

This is not normal. Better send your car back to BMW for thorough check. Your car still under warranty?

Yes this happen since new car !! The technician said it is common, is it related to the steering rack problem ?

I have a very faint "kraak kraak kraak" sound when I turn the steering to the right.
Very faint, must tutup radio only can hear.

This sound emerged at the 2,000km mark.
I sent it to BMW, during which they lubricated something and the sound disappeared.

2,000km later, the sound re-appeared.
Sent it back to BMW again (together with some other repairs), but this time the sound persists.

It is annoying enough that I want to send it back to them again, but not nearly enough that it has to be immediate.

Today went to SC, technician said need to send in the car for one full day. He said will drill two holes into the steering and put in lubricants.... if problem still persist he said will claim warranty... I was like WTF, it's brand new car only used for one month already got this problem... I remember I got this noise after I switch the steering position to the most bottom level.

Bro, don't let them drill any holes on your steering. WTF this is totally unacceptable. Just tell them to change the whole steering for you. Claim under warranty. Keep us updated.

This is a common problem for f30....so last week during delivery, my SA told me that he heard that sound during turning the steering to right side...he already make report for warranty claim....last thursday i sent my car to address the defect....it took about 6hrs for them to settle it....and came out ok...they change some bearings on the steering rack column...now no sound...but dont know how long can tahan....lol....

Did he mentioned on the drilling part and putting lubricants? So, did they change the steering wheel entirely or just repair?

i heard the steering rubbing sound when turning right and holding the steering wheel within the angle of 3 and 6 o'clock. The sound is something like dj playing jog wheel: shhhh, shhh...
i complained to wearnes few times, they cant find the solution, lastly they found few units which have the same noise and showed me that this is normal for f30, particularly 328i sport line, totally speechless...

Mine is bought from Wearnes as well, I'm thinking to go to other SC like AB or Quill for other advices

So, at last you just live with it ?

yes, the sound still persist and i just live with it for the time being, but this is getting annoying, together with other problems(steering rack knocking, interior rattling, loud wind noise, engine vibration) and incompetency of service center, this is really pressing on my nerve, sooner than later i will get this address by bmw malaysia.

aiyo.. its just the ball joint got loose so some water got into it and cause some corrosion. pop it out.. regrease and wah lah.. no more squeak.. whats the big deal..? it pisses me off big time when people in SC havent have a clue what they are doing!
