No problem HR castrol contract has finished so on that ground i when and got Pennzoil sponsorship for this trip. Hope it explain HR.

RB,if i remember correctly the lubs were collected on 1st august 2008 where it was mentioned in the oil redemption thread. from what i came to know later, the sponsorship agreements starts with the banner ad and the Castrol banner ad in the forum started in August 2008 with contract validity for 1 year.

can someone clarify. i may be wrong....thanks

i just finished some RFQ's...couldn't sleep...too tired....

nevertheless, i hope my question is a valid one or i hope its a valid one, haha!

greetings from Hatyai...

the trip/drive was tiring as some of us never sleep at all before the trip but it was fun...arrive almost 12hours after the flagged off by AB MD in glenmarie at about 2.30am...with stops in Bukit Merah, Gurun and Bukit Kayu Hitam...we arrive at the hotel in hatyai after 1.30pm i think...super hot weather and tired...

since today activity is free and easy, some of use have dinner, pergi zoo tengok 'harimau', shopping, foot massage and etc etc....

tomolo is the start of the planned event for everyone...looking forward to it...hehe

bro...i am not sure why this is an issue since this drive to thailand is not an official event sanctioned by the club as pointed out previously and clarified by the committee themselves...in this case, why this unofficial event, organized by the member privately cannot have its own sponsorship choice/acceptance only for the duration of this event?

bro, are you clarifying my question or trying to make sense of all this. if it is the former, then i must say you're not really helping much because i still need to know if what i said earlier about castrol is correct but if it is the latter then i am also trying to make some sense of all this.

the issue here is not whether it is an unnoficial/official drive but the matter i am addressing is whether the castrol sponsorship is still valid.

if the contract has expired according to RB, why did we not approach castrol for further sponsorship to maintain the current good relationship we have with castrol?

are we trying to maintain a good relationship with our sponsors or do we shop around? in my opinion, it is always good to give the current sponsors the first opportunity to sponsor any unnoficial/official event so as to maintain that good relationship and sponsors also feel the same...this is what marketing and branding is all about because their sponsorship may be all about long term marketing.

i still need clarification to my question. can someone please revert. thanks

in the meantime, have a safe trip bro. cheers!

We all made it home today safe and sound. Nearly 9 hours after we left Hat Tai. It is a truly enjoyable trip.

Wish to take this opportunity to thank the drive sponsors AutoBavaria & Pennzoil. To AUTO BAVARIA, the supper, flag off and the support vechicles were superb.

The organizers and marshalls, great job for taking us for a well planned trip.

Lastly to all the participants of the drive, glad to have met all of you and driving with you guys was a blast.
