Damn, same thing here, I just had to repair some wiring on my Satria last month due to rat attack... Funny that the rat(s) seemed to prefer wires with the heat-shrinkable tubing wrapped around the wires, and leave the wires with sticky insulation tape untouched. Must be the taste.

And yesterday, my E36 front right signal and the small right hand side signal lights stopped working suddenly. And worst still, the aircon compressor failed to kick in, all point to wiring problem, dunno whether the rat family have reached my E36, it is parked in a different area from my Satria.

CP, you need to put rat poison in your car already la.hehe. but i think you can just about fit a rat trap in the space between the body, and extractor.

my biggest problems is the neighbourhood cats love to snooze on my bonnet.. as you know, our bmw engines stay warm almost all night.

Just an update

Poor rat, serves him/her right.

Just went to repair and service my car today, confirmed the wiring damage were due to rat(s)... sigh. Still haven't managed to join back all wires yet, especially those around the brake servo area, all essential items working except for maybe ABS. No nagging Check Control messages.

Where are the cats when you need them, for all you may know, cats in Penang could be scared of rats, I once saw a rat near Chowrasta market in Penang Road, it's bigger than a normal sized cat...

My friend did pull out a kitten from his engine a few years back. He heard some funny sound coming from his engine while driving. Fortunately, that kitten was still alive.

I've killed a kitten that way... sad.

So guys, what's the best method of preventing rats from getting into the engine bay...? Hafta declare war with them already.

tamade7 GANAS GANASSSSSSSSSSSSS..............u just kill stuart little

Greets,

Wow, so GANAS ..... anyway I guess its much better way than me as I once in my teens years ago BURN a rat alive, hehehe.

Regards.

:D:D:D

I have to be a little GANAS because that thing got a little too much already. Actually that thing has been running around my house for quite sometime and I did not bother until it messes with my beemer. Lesson learned never mess with a man's beemer.
