So I was cleaning the engine bay and...

I smell this offensive odor from the eninge. I took out a torch light and look around and saw rat's poop all over on the left and right front bottom of the engine bay. It seems like a stupid rat decided to make the enigne bay its home. I then took a hose and spray the affected area with water but to no avail. Shits still there; smell still there. I am pissed and gonna lay traps tomorrow. Hopefully that bastard didn't chew on wires. SOB!!!

Must be careful with this rat treat. A month ago I received an e-mail from fren showing how this family of rat damming the whole Nazaria (the engine room and under the inner of the dashboard) which was just bought less than 3 month! Tell you, looking at the photos, it was unbelievable how this rat can do to our vehicle.

Damn, same thing here, I just had to repair some wiring on my Satria last month due to rat attack... Funny that the rat(s) seemed to prefer wires with the heat-shrinkable tubing wrapped around the wires, and leave the wires with sticky insulation tape untouched. Must be the taste.

And yesterday, my E36 front right signal and the small right hand side signal lights stopped working suddenly. And worst still, the aircon compressor failed to kick in, all point to wiring problem, dunno whether the rat family have reached my E36, it is parked in a different area from my Satria.

last time kitten went into my frens rig. she drove to client, came out and smell "fishy" smell in rig.... open bonnet and voila....."cooked minced" kitten ...*yucks*

took her a week and multiple engine washes to get the stink out.

So moral of this story is becareful of the "rat family"!!!

No pics lah bros. When I realized it I only see shits everywhere and the rat is nowhere to be found. I tried those glue type of traps but the rat is not taking it so tonite I am gonna try the cage type of traps.

Ah, for those who can keep dogs at home, get an Australian Silky Terrier. They were bred to hunt rats and dogs will also keep cats away from your house. hehe...

My friend did pull out a kitten from his engine a few years back. He heard some funny sound coming from his engine while driving. Fortunately, that kitten was still alive.

aiyo bro, i have the same problem with my iswara 3 years ago, i park outside my house, then morning start car only can hear sheee........... sound (air leaking sound) open up the bonnet and saw my compressor cable was leaking with a hole of a bite mark. i know strurt little did it coz i saw him wondering around.

if glue and trap dun work, go for powder form poison, mix it with fish food, they just love them and dun put it exactly underneat your car coz they know its a trap, trust me......... try to put beside your car, dun worry they can smell it. but be sure your pet or children dun touch it

careful, small snakes can also creep into your car aircond vents.

I've had 2 snakes in my house air cond some years back. Luckily it was only harmless green tree snakes.

So, i think the best way is to check your engine bay more often. It'll also help you to locate parts that is not running well i.e cracks, leakage, etc.
