Sifus, need your input on rear differential

Allo Everyone,I wanted to swap my current E32 2.93 rear differential ratio to 4.10 taken out from a E34. My dilemma is, can I “take out” the internal gearing from the E34 rear diff and install it into the E32 rear diff casing. personally, i think changing your diff to a 4.10 is mad.... are you doing it for the acceleration? you fuel consumption will go up. and you'll cruise at a higher RPM.

as of is it possible to do what you wanna do, i'm not sure.

It's not advisable to change the gearing of the diff by direct swap. It can be done but the mechanics must be experience/fully aware of what he/she is doing. If not you may encounter a lot of problems later.

usually only the diff housing needs to be changed for one diff to fit another, this is the case for a diff from the E34 to E30. not sure about the change from E34 to E32.

better to find a correct diff with the ratio you want.

at 4.10 rear diff , your top speed is 156km/h... at 5350rpm..

you must be crazy !!

further more, i m counting at final 4speed torque lockup at 0.87 not 0.67 !!

why must you change ? if really want to, sell the 2.93 ratio for the e36 manual guys... can make money..

guys, thanks for your input and your concern. Reason for the change is due to the fact that i'm transplanting Supra 1JZ-GTE heart into my E32. Original 1JZ-GTE rear diff ratio is around 3.9 and i found a E34 rear diff at 4.1. With 4.1 it should counter balance the E32's weight.

Is there any mechanic that you can recommend for the swap is that could be done?

ooooo.....another monster conversion in the making???
hmmmm....tht wld be the same engine as some ones e24 aint it???

as for the proper place to do the conversion,y dun u pm nikazwaa and ask him where he got his e24 done?

I have swapped rear diff internals before.... Not that complicated but not that easy oso...

Yes it is possible. I did it myself for a very close friend of mine about a year ago and he has had no problem with it up to now.
