side window anti trap function,what is this?

my bmw e60 start to show me this error after my friend open my codriver rear window to smoke,the rear window still can roll up and down but it was like need to press 4 -5times only can fully go down and up and the auto roll up and down function is gone...how can i resolve this problem? >< i hear somebody said it can be reprogram it to gain back the auto rolling window function...any sifu can teach me here?

The anti trap issue is a common one for E60s. To reinitialize the window, push and hold the window button (from the drivers seat controls) until the window is all the way down, and hold for another 5 seconds. Then pull and hold the button until the window is all the way up, and hold for another 5 seconds. That should reset the affected window.
