I'm a 32 yo Male driving a Toyota looking to upgrade to F10 for a while now. Tested the 528i a month ago and the overall experience was good. Was actually looking at 535i but unfortunately no test drive models available. I'm located at Bandar Utama, PJ but travel up and down the country bcos of work(engineer). I clock a total of 60k's a year on my cars so I want to upgrade to a BMW for all the north/south highway driving Just came to know about this forum when googling the new F10 5 series. I was interested the moment the new N55 engine was released. Good power to value. Never actually liked the E60 and almost bought an old E39 530i before settling for a brand new camry years ago. I am interested to get expert advice from forummers and also maybe some of the official BMW employees combing this site about the various cars and models in their range. Hopefully this will help with the decision to purchase and also maybe in future problems I may have with any BMW cars. I have never owned a BMW. Briefly drove a W210 Merc (Kompressor) and used to own a W123 merc workhorse whn i was studying. Been driving Jap cars for the past 8 years now and looking at finally upgrading.

Welcome to the forums Shotgun.

Since you're travelling a lot, why not consider going down the diesel route?

A lot of diesel owners here are strong advocates of the performance and savings obtained from their relatively hassle free ownership of those rides.

Welcome..welcome..

Hope you can find the info you are looking for...do drop by any of the TTs, there will be quite a number of members willing to share with you their experiences..

Cheers :)

I totally advocate diesels for long distance driving and BMW has got very good diesel engines but the Malaysian fuel quality is an issue and they only bring in the 520d. I heard the the 535d is just as powerful as 535i but with a better fuel consumption. The point is that diesel nowadays are just as good as petrol engines. If only our local fuel allows that then you will get a compromise of both worlds. A quick and powerful diesel engine with better fuel economy.

Also, at my age, i figured i better get a fast powerful car and enjoy that before i become and old fart and have to ferry my family around in an MPV.
