Hi guys, as we know E46 service mileage indicator countdown is pre-set for 25,000KM. I have two question below1) Can the mileage be adjusted to 10,000? As I understand that most of us will be changing our engine oil around 10,000 and not 25,000. 2) If really can be adjusted to 10,000, what happen if i dun reset it after 10,000? Will it show negative or remain 0 km or some alarm will trigger?

It is adjustable. I did it before at AB. They asked me if I wanted to shorten the oil change interval since I told them that the car feel sluggish after 12000 km.

The bad thing about adjusting the interval is that the computer will prompt for inspection much earlier than you need. The cycle is like this:

1. Oil Change
2. Inspection 1
3. Oil Change
4. Inspection 2

For me I just change the oil in between interval and not reset the service indicator to keep the inspection synchronised.

I decide to set the interval back to 25,000 km in the end.

leakwoon,

stick to the 25000km interval...it should be ok :D

can have lots of burgers before u have to service :D

burger time!

:yahoo:

Hmmm...I do my normal service every 10k. Better safe...25k sounds to harsh on the engine in this weather... :yahoo:

Anyways...me dunno...me no expert:p

vinson,

actually what ur doin much better...by doin it every 10000km..ur taking care of the engine much better but spend more la thats all :D then again i oso no expert bro...i suppose it depends on how one drives their car...if drive office n come home...25000km then service should do fine but if u whack the car most of the time..service selalu la.. :D

burger time !

:yahoo:

Bro...u making me hungry whilst my car hungry for engine oil and petrol :yahoo:

to me

i feel 10k KM also veri long

1 month i travel about 2000km nie

if got go oversea or outstation

then my UDM travel lesser

lol :D

cant wait for the next oil change...sigh

Yeah I also do my oil change at 10,000 km. But do not reset the service indicator. So I do 2 oil change for every service interval.

The car will feel very sluggish after 15,000 km. You can start to feel the sluggishness at 12,000 km already.

Bro leakwoon,

How can you tahan with 60 grade oil? Mesti feel sluggish and under powered and it gets worse as the oil degrades.

Use xW-40 la. You will thank me for it. :D

Tonight burger time for me at TTDI. Suddenly got craving for Ramly. See too many chubby's posting.. :p

before i actually start the car, the service indicator indicated the following:

-5000km inspection...(blinking)...

What does is it mean

I beileve it means you are overdue for inspection and service. When is the last time you service your car?
