Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know how many of you are happily using run flats and how many non run flats. If possible, can include pro cons. I have read from lots of websites so some are saying its good and vice versa.

Me personally are using run flats and I find them harsh and I thought of changing it to non run flats as soon as OEM wears out. I am not sure if non RFT will interfere with tyre sensors. Treadware life is also nice if you have changed before.
BMW here is telling me that I should continue using RFT( for thier profits I think?). If you can kindly state your experience it will be great.

Mine:
5 series / 19 inch rims / OEM Dunlop RFT.

Treadware:
15k km sofar...tires still looks ok.

Pro:
Not sure as my first set

Cons:
Harsh ride...I feel the road!

Cheers

Welcome to the club bro. RFT has its pros n cons and I'm running on non-RFT now as I drive mostly in the city whereby I can find any tyre shop if I have a flat and I enjoy the more quiet and softer ride. As a precaution I carry a tyre sealant and portable pump.

Hello Lord Punisher. Well I just changed to non RFT. As I can easily get a replacement. So far so good. The price 3 times cheaper.

I have a new set of non RFT Michelin Primacy ST. Very quiet and less harsher ride was the first impression.

Tot of sharing the info: I've recently used NEW nonRFT (cheaper options) for my front wheels and RFT (2yrs old Pirelli) for my rear wheels - The result was to my surprise quite satisfactory to drive and I've even pushed my F10 limit to 180-190km/h for my long journey this weekend. Tried both during heavy rain and also under scorching hot sun , and also used the SPORT & NORMAL driving mode - the result was ok.... I guess a good camber alignment & tyre balancing is the formula to mix this two type of tyres lah. Lastly the mechanic also advised to use RFT for your rear end wheels to avoid wobbly or shaky situation when u accelerate your UDM. Hope my experience helps guys, cheers!

Im running Dunlop SP SportMaxx GT RFTs 245/40/19 front & 275/35/19 back.

Couple of weeks ago, i went thru a pothole in SS7, resulting in puncture of the FL tyre sidewall. The TMPS only lighted up when i reached BSC in Bangsar (11km later). Attempted to fill in air, but since its punctured, no use. drove back towards home (another 11km) on the RFT, averaging 50km/h. safely reached home on the same tyre, which was holding up quite well...... it was a public holiday, so no shop was opened. Next day, drove another 10km to change tyre. nearest shop does not carry the size.

a week later, the RL tyre kembung. Forced to change as i was travelling long distance..... sigh...... lucky managed to get same brand of tyre at a decent price.

Guess the pothole took the life out of the left side tyres......

Hi, can anyone share if there's any suitable Non-RFT tyres for F10 528i M-Sport :
Front : 245/45R18
Rear : 275/40R18

Couldn't find the rear size from those popular tyre brand.
