It is a common problem in most European Car that the roof lining will sagged after sometime, esp. in our hot weather. This happens to my E46 recently after i've just clean it with a damp cloth. Dont ever clean your liner with damp cloth, it will be wet and the already brittle sponge backing just gave way. Use a form type cleanner for this job. I've learned this the hard way.

Made few calls to several cushion shops and the estimate varies...from RM400 up to RM900. check out in the net, way back in 2005 it was only about RM250 -RM 350 to replace the cloth. Anyway made few phone calls and was recommended Central Car Cushion - in Taman Kepong. Mr.Chew (012 212 2040) quoted me RM450 and additional RM160 for the sisalation and insulation padding. Best of all it will be ready same day. I sent in the car 10:30 am and it was done 5:30pm.Here are some photos taken for your info.

Come ride the bandwagon.........Cheers mate....

Good sharing, thx. Does the adhesive give you the new car smell? You may want to open the doors/windows and let it air for sometime...

Also for anyone thinking of re-tinting the windscreen/windows, make sure you get the shop to cover up the surrounding lining. In the process of cleaning up the old tint, they sure will wet the lining.

might get stoned...

Yes it does, viewfinder, the Nice smell of BMW interior had been overpowered by the smell of adhesive plus smell of new fabric. Hope I dont get "stoned" while driving it in the next cuple of week. Good advice to let the air out...

O ya by the way. Mr Chew mentioned not to hold or push hard the new liner in the next 3 weeks or so, because the glue is still not harden as yet. You will leave a so call "dent" effect.

Take care bro...

Famy thanks for the info. Looks like new and without saying you are happy with the workmanship.

My E46 slide pillar 'clothing' has also give way. Also, the interior has a kind of the so called the 'crayon' smell. I suspect it is the form that holds the back speakers. Have tried everything, including stream cleaning the interior etc.

Looks like i may pay Mr. Chew a visit some time.

very nice info as my e46 is much more worst....da mcm langsir...and i need to change it immediately...
