Rim Repair Help

Guys, I need to repair a cracked wheel, it's about an inch long at the inside lip. Since this rim is very valuable to me and super rare, I need to find a top notch sifu who can confidently undertake the repair job. So guys, if you have a place to recommend, pls let me know. See the pic below;

i did mine at heap soon in segambut u can search the forum for details. pretty satisfied with the job as the condition remained the same after almost 6 months. repaired 3 wobbly rims & resprayed the set. i woudnt repair a crack like that due to safety reasons but others may have different opinion.

I've done many rims refurb before, so I know places that can do a good job (heap soon included). However, this cracked rim is the first for me....so, I'm just looking for a true specialist who could do this type of repair.

If I have a choice, I wouldn't want to repair it, but this rim....'ada duit pun tak boleh beli wor' :top:

i dun think even the most powderful specialist can repair a crack alloy rims...unless they design a chemical that rebond the molecules together which has been sheered...those that just fill up the crack would not work as this jeopardized ur safety as the rims cannot maintains its strength liau...

the only way is to change the crack rim...

I dunno much about alloy, but I saw on TV how they repair cracked fiberglass...they drill a small hole at the end of the crack line to stop it from going further, then they fill it up with new fibers.

I'm sure there's a way to do it for alloy....jus trying my luck

try asking darren of autodetailer @ Section 14 PJ. he'll sort u out and get your car detailed.

check out his blog as he had documented some rim repair on the new C-Class...

usually repair is done by melt and reweld (metal rims) but alloy i think they need to use some shebang kinda method

they do repairs as such however it again boils down to your application as it's definitely not safe for high speed as the wheel has lost regit...good luck

Shaifulo, I've got a close friend who would be able help you out there. They're an engineering shop that specialises in rim repairs as well. I've seen rims that are much worst than yours, so call me if you need directions.

shaifulo...if you manage to get your cracked fixed please drive slowly since your rims become a bomb.
