Hi all, hope all is well. Anyway, recently was told that when repainting a convertible, soft top in my case, it is not necessary to remove the canvas as long as we have a hardtop and retract the softop, it is safe to go into the heated paint room. Is this true? I have no experience in this but that was what i was told by a paint specialist, who seems to have done many Ferrari Spyders and other exotics convertible. Any thoughts is much appreciated. Thanks. Regards

..well..window on your canvas is plastic one or solid one (glass) ? What is car model you wanna paint ?

Looks like an interesting makeover is in the pipes eh?

If in doubt, I'd advice you to go on a safer route...

All the best Jackie :)

Btw, we shld TT soon!

EccO, my ride is a e36 convertible with plastic rear screen.

Bro Blackcat, not so soon as i am still researching. Appreciate your kind advise. Yes we should meet up again.

Miz, if anything you are the poison laa...lol...and my e30...''tak habis habis'' :D

Anybody else have any experience or opinion to share? :) dont be shy :)

should not be a problem i would say as the oven heater is usually kept to certain deg of temp..mine was left there to dry overnight as the last laquer paint coat was laid somewhere around 7pm ...

therefore it's not necessary to remove the canvas IMHO ...but that's the case if you're planning to keep the same colour ...

i'm not sure if there is painted surfaces around where the canvas is being kept .... :)
