Repainting rim workshop kl or pj

Hi UDM Guru's....
To avoid creating another similar topic or new tread, can I tumpang here also. My e90 rims need repainting/spraying too. Is there any place in kl/pj which can do the job well? I need a shop which can provide a spare rims coz I need to use the car for work. Looking for Quality and good workmanship.

Pls advise. Tx.

Wheel painting can be a relatively simple DIY process. Unless you're going to powdercoat it, you can get good results using a proper spray paint.

Longevity of the paint depends on your prep job. Flaking and bubbling can be almost eliminated if you spend some effort on the prepping of the wheels. I've personally done it once, and the last I checked (at the 1.5 year mark) there is no flaking or chipping of the paint, and there is no discoloration. I've other friends who've done it and had only good things to say.

After all, its maximum a weekend of DIY labor and the cost is just for your paint. Good thing is that if you're not happy with one color, you can always just respray it yourself at minimal cost :D

I know this person Michael 016-6922102 offer the spare rims when u leave your rims to refurbish in his shop at Kepong.

Anyway, do a proper introduction mate.

"The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin." The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint." -wikipedia

Price will be your deciding factor. But then again if its just some stock 16" wheels...can spray yourself ma :p
