Hey Guys...I'm looking for a shop who can help me refurbish my RIMs in either PJ area or in Penang. My rims are a little scratched up and wanted to get them refurbished!

Try Goh Swee Hin Tyre Shop at Prangin Rd or Dato Keramat.

They can arrange for your rims to be recond/resprayed for about RM100+ per rim.

i was wondering too where can we restore our lips scratch rims..i think goh swee hin only could re spray them...

but how bout if the rims got dent?i heard somewhere in bm they could fix the dent rim but not sure where is that exactly

I believe most tyre shops send rims to 3rd party vendors for refurbishment but they are able to loan you spare rims. So just make sure the price includes loaning you a set of rims. I have done rim refurbishment at Sunny Carcare in New Taman SEA, PJ and the rims came back like new. Price will depends on the size and whether it's a straight forward respray or whether more work is needed to rectify any dents.

Here is a rim that came back like new :

That looks good, how much do they charge?

So far, the other place I always hear about is Heap Soon in Segambut, just behind the AB there.

Hi guys,

How do could we find out if second hand rims are bent? thanks

Hmmn.... trick question..

What about putting them on the alignment machine and spin them? That's how I check the bicycle wheel for bents.. :p

I do understand about respraying rims, but recond? Are they safe in the first place?

i have to look trough my receipts to get the address. i,ll post it later. shop's name is speed alloy. i ve never done any recond or refurbish. i went there for custom made hub centric rings. but it is one of the most popular shop in the northern region.( that's what i heard). but once there u can peek into their workshop and observe the displayed recond rims and decide for yourself. pay a visit.

cheers
