Rear Shock Mount Replacement

I refer to these two website on replacing the E36 rear shock mount with a E46 rear shock mount (and optional Z3 reinforcement plate). http://www.todor.info/repair/e36rsm.html http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_techtip/techtips/rear_shock_mounts.htm I'm driving a E36 328i and I'm not sure which E46 rear shock mount I can use. Are all 6 cylinder E46 rear shock mount the same?

to be specific, it should be E46 cabrio rear shock mount but one look they all looked the same and i'm not too sure the parts dealer stocks them. Probably have to order with the correct part number...

FYI, E30, E36 and E46 all use the same design rear shock mount...

I've only heard good things about the RE RSMs. I believe the RSM design for e36 and e46 are the same.

From RE's website:

Fits the following vehicles:

* All E30, including M3
* All E36, including Z3 and 318ti
* All E46, including M3
* All Z4, including MZ4

I used it for awhile and there is no significant increase in harshness or vibration.

yes.. The Z3 plate is steel, the ones you got are aluminum alloy..
