Rattling noise from rear dash... Resolution?

Quick question for E46 coupe owners: Have anyone of you had issues of rattling noises coming from the rear dash and made rectifications [not the tennis ball solution] by dismantling the lot and placing rubber/felt strips where the dash meets the car body? Tia... :)
