Hav any of u had ur N46's radiator fan kept blowing non-stop?It was quite scary tat day, even when i stopped the engine and remove the keyfob, the radiator fan still running. I stopped at a quiet place tats y the fan noise is quite noticeable. Don really know whether its the 1st time or many times alredi.:stupid:Then, i try to start the engine, manually off the Aircond and stop the engine. This time radiator fan totally shut off. Did i do the right thing or shud i leave it continue blowing?

the fan does run after the engine is switched of if the temp is above a certain temperature. Is quite normal

I had this on my previous honda after a long journey . Some said ' suiz sudah rosak wei'.. and some said 'dia panas punya pasal ma''. So dnt worry much , as long as its spinning. You should be worried if its not spinning .:)

But yet : Curiosity - is the cooling system not working as how it should ? Why do the fan need to do overtime for cooling of the water , when it have to while the car is in motion/engine on.

Other sifu's .. please shade some light please.. Very the tricky situation.

Normal. The E90 is running electric water pump. So if engine hot, normally after hard DS mode rempit session, the engine cooling system continue to operate despite fob pulled out. Coolant continue to circulate and fan continue to disperse heat from the radiator.

I normally sayang to see the battery being drained by this operation. So I let it run for about 2~3 minute, climb back into the car and start the engine, for about 5 sec, then kill the engine. This time, fan will stop and I somewhat recharged the battery.. :p U can continue to wait for the fan to stop without interfering but it will take about 7 min.

P/s: nothing to do with the aircond.

Thanks to all Masters, it does ease my worries. This doesn't happen to my previous Civic so, it doesnt look normal to me when i encountered it. Now, as Astroboy said, i'll leave for awhile and before it drained my battery, i'll off it manually. TQ TQ :)

on older cars , it only happens if there is an electric fan connected to the water temp system,
On newer cars the system is quite automatic.

Dont worry
But if you have issues starting the car, then check the DME relay.. random i know, but i have had prior experience in this ;)

I like the idea of cooling the engine to better wear protection but I hate the idea of draining our expensive battery. I did toying with the idea of keeping a plant spray in my porch so I can squat in front of the car and spray the radiator from the kidney grille until the fan cut off.. tried that actually.. but lazy after awhile. :p

It's a good practice to cool down the engine by driving it easy before stopping after a hard drive. But very hot weather and running engine at stand still will trigger the fan. I know some people lift up the front bonnet to let the heat out of the engine bay after hard driving.
