Hey guys.. i just got my self an E46 320i 6 cylinder double vanos for a very good deal. Im new here so need all the sifu's advice on maintaining the car as in what oil to use, which service place to go and etc. Looking forward in joining this club. Btw im staying in Kota Damansara so if anyone is near can meet up for a chat :smokin:

Congrats on your new ride! Also live around KD area.

For quick oil change service, I go to the castrol service centre (Alpha iirc) at Sunway Damansara / Giza. Its the one opposite One Station Cafe / diagonally across Maybank Giza. They have castrol edge which I use for my E38. Service is good and the place is clean. Plus, plenty of places to wait while your car gets its lube changed.

For other maintenance matters, I send my car to Optimum at Kayu Ara. Its just a toll stop away and they are BMW specialist. If you haven't done a full check prior to your purchase, I'd suggest you go to optimum first and get a full checkup on the car. It could potentially save you $$$ if you can do some initial preventive maintenance.

Good choice. N42 is headache abit lucky u are not using N42.

hi bro.. thanks for the advice.. wahh alot also stay in KD area.. ok i know the workshop which u were talking about... ill get the car fully check.. now working nite shift and abit hard to do so in the morning and noon as i wake up really late anyway Optimum at kayu ara, my friend also send his car there.

Appreciate the advice... will do so next week as this Saturday also will be a full day event for me

There is gonna be (god willing) a TT in Shah Alam, MMZ Bukit Jelutong. This Fri from 10pm onwards.

its just the valve seals...and it does not really affect all units..only some. Plus its not a major deal to repair when it comes.
