Hi Guys, During the Auto Show in Juru, Penang last month, they had a booth and indicated how we can protect our wheels from harmful curbs and parking mishaps. Many shops out there offers refurbishings and repainting but I believe we should protect our expensive wheels 1st. I installed it on my ride and it looks cool too... It was a painful installation process especially when your tyres are RFT. But end result was satisfying. I installed in Bayan Bay Penang. http://www.protectyourwheels.com/main.htm I will upload some pictures shortly...

some kewl looking stuff there ..... how much would it cost ? if it's too expensive then it's goona be a target for those with itchy hands

Ok bro, transfered to Penang and been here for the past 2 years. Out from the bimmer world for some time and just got my udm again... loving it everyday.

thought about the itchyfied hands also, the mechanic had to bruise his fingers, wack the piece so hard and they had to remove the air before they could install. removing it will be the same, tough. there is about 1 to 2 inches of material that sits inside the tyre. so it should be safe. i tried pulling after the installation and the mechanic guy started to laugh at me... told him hey you never know.

I'm just SO LOVING angelicDemon108's WICKED RIMS.... equivocal about the produbs though...

two issues comes to mind :

1. will it not disturb the sealing of the tyre to the rims somewhat?where the end of the protector meets?possibilities of air loss?
2. when the protector does it's job and gets rashes, will it not look ugly?
no doubt the rims will be protected but.....

Actually, moots, your first point is a valid point of concern. Once we modify ANYTHING, we run the risk of voiding the warranty - worse, the insurance company then has the right to refuse to pay up, should an accident occur.

There was a case in Singapore, when a Hyundai driver failed in his insurance claim because he, believe it or not, changed from standard to sports rims!

can spray the thing kah? ikut colour rim ...
not sure if can spray since it is plastic material. however it comes with many different colours. If you have a white car with black rims, you can opt for white plastic. nice... you can check the website for the different colours.

1. not really sure if the air will escape. i have been checking my iDrive for the tyre pressure and its fine so far. I guess the high psi in the tyre should be able to ignore the additional material.
2. it will get "rashes" and also if you choose white, man it turns to a colour that you can salvage. end of the day your rims are protected and it is not for esthetic purposes.

happy contemplating... :)

actually you have a point there... i shall make a random check with my insurance company on this... craps, spent the RM 400 already... any insurance specialist out there?

Guys finally managed to get some time to log in. Please avoid from using this product. A few months ago, I was travelling back home from Bayan and the stupid so called protector detached from the wheel and started to hit my body. Stopped my car to realised the my paint was damaged + tyre slightly garaged and i had to tow my car back. Next day brought to tyre shop and remove the stupid plastic.

After the incident I contacted back the installer n Jeffrey n daniel and guess what, they agreed to reimburse. This was last year and I am still waiting for the reimbursement. Now the owners of produbs distributorship is no longer wanting to answer my calls. Managed to file a case and going to them to court.

Be careful with this product...
