just like to share , my driver side window was making lots of noise when opening and closing , the motor was fine but i suspected the pulley cable was faulty. It has been worknig fine for the last 9 years , and before I get caught unnecessarily during these rainy days , decided to have it checked. True enough , my guess was right. But what was more shocking was the price of an original set , Rm 500++, deicded to get a Taiwan set for Rm 280 , works just fine , but my mech said the lifespan can be variable .Depending how lucky or unlucky you are .Any of you guys experienced this ? Do you think the price was right ? I sudah 'kena ' ka or was I allright ?All I know is pocket a bit lighter now..

u r lucky it last 9 years, the price seems reasonable, u can also get recond unit at around 260 with 6 month warranty

I change mine front passenger seat for RM 280 all including installation. Taiwan set i guess. The faulty is that the cable came out from it's roller caused the roller being broken. No harm to the motors. This is one of the weakness of e46. Better spray a bit of silicon spray along the rubber at the window and door panels.

What i did was use 2 pcs of cable tie and reinforce back the roller and everything works fine. You can't do that to the back doors however...darn.

Should DIY urself, it is not difficult. 45 mins job max. I replace mine and replace it myself (1st time), i ordered the bmw original lifter (not taiwan) and cost about RM370. So i save quite alot compared to u. :D
