Playing videos from USB flash drive

Hi, has anyone here tried and successfully played a video file from a USB flash drive?I tried to convert video files from mp4 to dvd format on a usb flash drive but the idrive doesnt seem to recognize the file. I tried to encode the same file to avi, doest work also and i did try to play it when the car is stationary. Thanks.

i been trying without success too. i think the only way to play video without the DVD/CD its via the cradle.
