Today I saw a banner stating there's a 50% rebate on petrol if using UOB credit card... wow! Anyone is using it? The best offer I had is 7% using Std Chartered.

This 50% rebate credit card from UOB is called UOB One Platinum, applicable only for purchase of petrol at BHP as they are vendor-partner in this program. At this moment, there are a few types of credit card offered in the market which gives rebate for purchase of petrol. Some examples include... Citibank Shell Card, CIMB Petronas Card, Maybank Petronas Card, UOB BHP Card, etc (log on to the respective bank websites for more info).

However, this 50% rebate offered under UOB Card is only for new application of the said card, in which the Bank will approve a special "50% rebate card" everyday for successful applicant. Normal UOB One Card gives u 2% rebate for purchase of petrol at BHP.

For those who don't have this UOB Card, can really start applying

Its a lucky draw kind of contest. Out of thousands of UOB new card holders, only one or few get to be the winner, and there's a annual limit or something. Just like the recent Petronas contest where someone just won a AC E90, not every Petronas customers get the E90..

Yes, very true. Only 1 special card will be issued and allocated to 1 successful applicant bankwide per day. Normal card holders will enjoy 2% cash rebate.

My current "cash rebate" petrol credit cards are as follow:-

Shell Citibank card : 2.5% cash rebate (rebate will be at 5% if o/s balance for the month exceed certain amount)
UOB One Platinum card: 2.0% cash rebate

Just to share some info with fella members and forummers.

i work at uob. haha...

its fun since its discussed here. Russie is absolutely right!

the one card also gives rebates for other stuff. since my gf likes Sushi, we always go there got 10% rebate. and my parents like Tai Thong, so i get 10% there as well. the rest is pay maxis bill like that lo. haha... not bad at all. after 2 months can eat free@ sushi king!
