The interior is nothing much to shout about.. but i like the hood bulge and the side vents yum! Will the production car look the same? Sure they will look different come production time esp for the interior.

am i the only one here who doesnt like it? the bulge is overdone, it almost looks like a scoop. the rear bumper is amazingly ugly, and those mirrors are just .... dont get me started on the fender grill...

as much as i WANT to like it, i'm just not feeling it.

each to their own... For me, it'll always be the M3 that started it all - E30 M3... The car BMW made to win races... Those that follows are not made to race...

From KL2DC's 1st pics; the back from an angle looks like the Volvo C70 / S40 class. As for the interior, boring. I like the video clip of the 335 test drive. The guy parked the car in a busy area, and no one in half an hour even bother to look at the car. Not really an eye catcher.

So, the M3 is going to be so much more expensive, jsut to shave off probably 1 sec from the 335's 0-100 timesheets, and to have statistical facts that it has 450hp on tap.

On its own, with the other 3 series models, it may stand out........a bit. But when its with other cars; yawn!!! Don't get me wrong. I am a diehard fan of BMW, but really; I could get better things with the money spent. What really puts it apart from the E46 M3? Nothing much. This is not a revolution neither is it an evolution.

but no doubt the New M3 is nice...somehow, the rear lights look so much like Toyota Vios at a certain angle...cabutz.....

i don't know... like some of the rest... i like it... a lot... and why is everyone making such a big hoohaa about the bonnet bulge... you see it on the current m3s as well... so... it's nice... its not overdone... nor is it ugly...

as for production... when the M5 concept was unveiled some years back... it was more or less similar to the ones you get on the road now... actually... to the contrary... i don't think there was any visible which changed... vis-a-vis the M6 as well... so i m guessing... apart from the carbon fibre inside... the car will look as it is..

and the reason why BMW M GmBH always roduce a concept first is because they want to gauge what people think about the car... so like the M5 and the M6, when it came out... everyone was in awe... apart from a few in this site... and hence... the car came out looking like the concept... so if you really want them to change the wing mirrors... or make it look even more brutal than it is now... make your voice heard... got to M3 forums... google it... i m not promoting another site here... apparently they listen...

and as for the comment about how the slogan "company with ideas" is not apt to BMW... i again beg to differ... tell me... where can you find another car in the same class with the same stats... the RS4 4.2 litres 414 bhp... the C63 AMG due out soon... 6.3 litres 420 bhp... any of these cars breaking the 100 bhp/litre barrier??? nope... the M3?? yes... most definitely... so even if you don't see the ideas on the car... it does not mean the ideas are not there... what do you guys expect from and M3?? a porsche/ferrari lookalike?? it is after all te 3 series from BMW's very own motorsports division... so how much different do you want it to look from the 3??

and as for the test drive of the E92 by fifth gear where the guy parked the car at the side of the road and not get any looks from anyone... baaaahhhh... what do you expect when you go to a retirement town like swansea... did you people see the people who walked past?? they were either old... or old... or housewife... you expect them to know the difference between an E92 and a shopping trolley??

if any of you do not like what i just said in this post... shoot me... i am a die hard BMW fan... that is why i am a member of this club...

don't get me wrong... it is a good place... hell i drove my car to swansea and had a hell of a time on the B-roads... awesome smooth roads they have there... if i had another chance to do it... will go faster...

azzzy! you're spot on. If the M3 looks like the picts, I love it! The comparisons you made with RS4, C63 and may I add the IS500 is certainly relevant. I've my selfish reasons for finding the M3 looking uncannily similar to the E92, heh! Has anyone also noticed the max. rpm @ 8,400 rpm?! Awesome! I can't wait to hear the soundtrack at that rev! I also agree on your take on Swansea. I stayed in nearby Cardiff for 2 years, so I know. I believe it will flutter a few hearts in Malaysia where even the standard E92 is a rare sight!
