While the new M4 might not have a significant jump in HP, the torque figures jumped 100 NM over the E92 M3 to 500 NM thanks in no part to the twin turbochargers. The gearing ratio for E92 was one perfect match even though it only produced 295 lb. ft. of torque but it has the ability to maintain effective torque all the way up to its redline 8300 RPM. I guess we'll hv to see the actual test when the car finally comes out but no doubt it will be interesting to see how M engineers mate the turbo into the whole works. Now whether they can maintain the "crazy engine induction noise" of the E92 M3 is altogether a mystery.
