I have been a Merc Loyalist for as long as i can remember BUT became interested in the E60 530d recently as it's the ONLY big displacement Diesel Conti (if I'm not mistaken la).
I'm located at Kajang and the potential Seller recommended me to join this forum.
As I'm TOTALLY NEW to Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, I thought I'd learn as much as possible about my impending purchase from your collective lived experience with the
I've checked out a 2005 E60 530d recently and was blown away by the refinement and technology. The car's in good condition at a fair price. Only trouble is that the turbocharger and/or System is Not working. NO 500Nm pressing you into the seat of the car! ;-)
Went to a Continental Master Tech (worked for 10 years with Lambo, Italy) who checked out the car and the OBD II Diagnostics and said the car is in good condition and NOT throwing up any DTC's except Turbo not functioning and said according to the $60K Diagnostic Device, it's NOT because of a boost leak or anything. Advised to service/changed the Garrett turbocharger.
PLEASE HELP!! Does's ANYONE know of a BMW Tech with Turbo Diesel Expertise/Turbo Diesel Specialist i can go to? Tong Turbo in Cheras apparently doesn't do servicing anymore. There's this guy Mr Yap in Klang who's apparently a FORD Turbo Diesel Specialist..don't know whether he does other makes.Will call him tomorrow.
