a) My check engine at meter sometimes keep display even after few km drive. Why is that?b) My practice on previous car, normally i switch on the ignition and wait. after check engine goes out, then i start the engine. at my udm..It’s stuck if I wait too long at ignition..If I start just second after all the light goes out..Then ok..Anyone had experience that?c) Where can I duplicate my key? Only get one..Possible to do it at normal key shop or to bmw specialist?d) anyone at KL area know where can i rewrap my steering n seat? honestly...reasonable price...e) went to accesories shop...wanna add door lock function using brake to my alarm..seller told me that bmw come with black cobra alarm that will close the window if i lock the door..is that true? coz try at my car..the window doesn't closed.

a. Your check engine light, how long did it stay on? Can you post a picture of the symbol.

b. How many green bar left or all the bar have turn red for the service bar? Sometime when time for inspection, the light do stay on a bit longer to remind you of the time for servicing.

c. Does you car have EWS? What year is your model. Most model 1994 have ews. Duplicate the key will not be able to start the car because the EWS need to detect the transponder in the key

Did all the light stay ON or which of the light remain On after the engine is started.

10 minute is rather long. Normally about 30 seconds. From the picture, it shows that the service bar is all green. That means that you have recently changed the oil. How did you mechanic reset the service bar? With a jumper wire or reset tool.

only check control remain....sometimes ok..sometimes not...i just took the car. previous owner did the service. what kind of service that the bar warn us to do? just change engine oil?

If it just the check control light, it means there is some electrical fault.

Did you retrofit HID for your low beam recently? check your headlamp bulb, fog lamp and brake light and dimmer light. Maybe one of the bulbs is blown.

BTW, does your e36 have an OBC module install? Check the alarm at the OBC for the nature of the fault if you have an OBC.

Other than that, you need to diagnostic tools at any workshop to determine the fault.

Nando, your model is E36, 328i - 98 have OBC as standard. You should be able to check the problem from OBC.

Do a search on this forum for the OBC function. I think somebody have post a link on how to use the OBC function.

check the bulbs or the holder of the bulb at the brake light and rear light. E36 is famous for having bad contact at the pin of the bulb holder.

obc display rear brake light fail...mechanic did replaced it..but after went out from the workshop...it happened again...don't know is it bcoz of wiring problem..
