Need help & advice

Guys, I bought brand new Bilstein B8 all four for my E46 from Eng Soon, SG.After installed & using it for bout 1 month & half (around 2k km mileage usage)found out the front right absober is leaking badly. Called them & was told to bring it back for checking. So I replace the leaking absober wt used absober & bring it to Eng Soon hoping to get 1 to 1 replacement. As to my surprise they told me to buy a new one & they will send the leak absober to Germany for factory checking after I fill up claim form. If it proven to be manufacturing defect they will return my money. It will take at least 2 to 3 months Added to my anger the Fatty Boss even tell me that the shaft still can go up after pressing it to test KNN. He think I'm an idiot arr even old damaged absober can go up although not leaking. For me its clearly product defect as the seal damaged resulting the leak. After spending a lot for all my 3 cars with them I'm feel cheated. This is not the 1st time as I encounter problem on parts like water pump, belt, seal, thermostat but this time around is too much. By sending the leak absober to Germany for testing will not cover my right as they can always say its my problem. I believe as a seller they should take full resposibility on the products they sell. What is my right here? What say you?:stupido2: P/S: I changed all lower front parts brand new also ie stabilizer link, lower arm wt ball joint & bush, tie rod end & all other stuffs.

1. Tell the Fatty that u dont agree to this and would like immediate refund or 1 to 1 replacement.
2. Get in touch with the Official Distributor and find out the true story. Better still contact/email the Company in Germany. Normally for this international company, they dont take this lightly.
3. Or complain to Consumer Tribunal. They are very helpful and quite efficient. U can get the refund/replacement within 2 3 weeks. This can convey them the message not to pray, pray with u or other consumers in future ...

Ooppss sorry, I overlooked the SG part.

In that case go to bilstein.com and complain direct to HQ. In Asia they only have offices in Japan, Korea & Thailand, not SG.

maybe the used ones in malaysia r being refurbish and later on sold in SG ka ..

No lar its brand new but I think old stock. Another thing I think they keep the absober lying on the ground resulting uneven oil/gas inside the absober soaking 1 side of the seal. The correct way to store absober is to make it stand to the wall. My car never hit the pothole or park on uneven road.

if they're not an official distributor, then unless they are nice enough to change for you, they might not want to replace 1 for 1. thats y he said buy a new one, then they'll send back the old one to HQ for checking. usually authorised centers will have warranty or willing to help you out.

but for the price u're getting it, cant really complain

it's normal form german these days... even ZF sucks (all german distributors)... the problem is when we do outside the 'authorized SA' we can't do much, so we have to fight it all the way..

dun waste your time, germany won't say it's defective..it's all bull$hit...

you will have to buy new. just bad luck.

even my steering rack has noise after 8months, they dun want to acknowledge the warranty, even tyre's like bridgestone also, all say warranties, just a $hit load of customer confidence they instill in you when you buy the product and 'miss' to read the small print.

Yup its cheaper than M'sia but its not cheap either after conversion & GST. You have to buy at least RM1k worth of parts to get saving bout 20 to 30% & hoping not to get tax when enter to M'sia. The saving I use for labor charges. If compare to KL price is not much different as JB price is higher than KL. So not much choice for me.
Only thing I confident at SG in term of authenticity of the parts. Lots of fake items in Bolehland. Unless you go to authorised SC lar.

Yup got the hologram on it. Boycott Eng Soon? Been thinking also but they carry most BMW parts & cheaper than others. I know 2 others supplier as well but cant recall.
To think back many things we bought are not protect our right as consumer.

i said what i have to say to them, but they say it's due to Bilstein SOP that's why..

i told them to say **** to Bilstein...we are customers, and they will loose the customers..

like that, better buy from BMW - all original.. if leak, they ganti straight away.


i m not coming, need to recover from the accident, hence body needs to be healed, so if i come, drinking, partying... sure will get sick..
