Hi All,I just bought 318i (97) from tender..this car sudah 3 year duduk diam, currently the car cannot start because the original key is missing and they duplicate the key can on the battery but cannot start b’cause alarm ade bunyi so with this kind of scenario how much I have to spent and what I have to change to make my second darling wake up like a brand new E36. And any suggestion which w/shop I need to go..i’m in Melaka.Thanks

E36 318i (97) comes with EWS protection. This means that your car cannot start if the transponder (or chip) is not present or does match the EWS coding. You can ON the ignition but the car cannot start.
Another thing is the alarm. Your alarm should be disable when you unlock the door. If it still activate and use an after market alarm system, chances is that the after market alarm could also disable the starting of the engine.
