Hi guys,I've introduced myself in newbie sect. Just got my ride, a used e46 318i. I am advised to do diagnostic on the car. What is the cost and what it could tell? I am noob with beemers. The dealer recommend me to go to Turbo Power in Kuchai Lama. Any comments on this workshop? Is there any other thing which I should replace now?

Since you just got the car, perhaps itis good you immediately do your oil change. Also changing of ATF fluid, axel oil if $$ permits. Do a check on yr radiator, water pump, hoses and cooling system to check if there are any leakages. Check the brake rotor and pads as well.
Other than that, will be wear and tear items. Some e46 have problems with control arms and bushing, power steering etc. But these things u will find out as u spend more time with yr "precious".
In terms of diagnostics, i dun think its too expensive if it is just scanning. Last time my workshop here in Sabah din even charge me for diagnostics. Or another option u can just make frens with others here with the bmw scanners and ask them to do it for u.
