Hi All,Here's a few pics of my car after 8 hours of full on polish and buffing. Just realised recently after a trip from back from overseas that my dashboard has started to develop hairline cracks! AAARRRGGGHHH!!! I feel like shooting myself in the head now for not doing anything sooner to prevent it. Looks like applying armour-all once a month aint enough...Btw, how do you post up pics in the thread itself? ie not through attachments?Hope you guys like it. Enjoy!

thanks meanguy,

It's turtlewax colourback restorer i think. Cant remember exactly the name coz I threw the bottle away but it's red. It's on the abrasive side but the paint condition on this 16 year old car aint in the best of shape, so had to use something strong. Next coat of wax would be the regular turtlewax, just to protect the paintwork.

Cheers!

What colour is your paint job? Looks delicious, literally. Haha.

Hi Vanity,

Honestly I have no idea. I'm presuming it's standard BMW Maroon. I dont think there's been a colour change throughout the car's life.

Was actually thinking of spraying it white like yours. However this wont happen anytime soon la. I'm a sucker for white cars, pure white, not pearl. makes the car look so purposeful, nothing superflous... I think cars like your M3 look best in white or black.

Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words. My car will be sure to hear them. =p Actually, that's exactly what I did. I originally got the car in technoviolet, and it didnt suit my taste or the car. And white not only looks good, but like you said, purposeful as well. Have you ever sat in a black car after a day out in the sun? =/

You could paint your car white, but honestly, I don't think the colour of your car is standard by any means (correct me if I'm wrong anyone). Looks so glossy and unique. If anything, it gets my seal of approval. =D

i like the color of the car! very unique.

dont use armorall!
armorall contains silicons which damage the interior plastics in the longterm. i found out the hard way as well :(

theres a product called Lexol Vinylex which i use. they started selling it at ACE hardware a few months ago.

maxkpp and maxssp, are you both related?

maxkpp, no problem we can go TT...

maxssp, mind sharing how much does it cost? I'm presuming it's just a sealant right? cant make the cracks go away (still makes me cry thinking about it)

no i dont know who maxkpp is.

Vinylex is a plastic conditioner. it will prevent further cracking but cannot fix the previous cracks. cant remember the price but think its around rm50

No relation, different father, different mother.
But we are both Malaysian.
